Duke’s Mayo and The City Kitch Community Works Partner this December to Address Food Insecurity in the Charlotte Area

Charlotte, N.C., December 5, 2022 - The City Kitch Community Works announces a donation partnership with Duke’s Mayo this December to help support small local food businesses and address food insecurity in the Charlotte area.

During the month of December, Duke’s Mayo will donate one meal for every $15 purchase made through TCK (The City Kitch) To Go’s West End location at 2200 Thrift Rd. Charlotte, NC 28208. TCK To Go is The City Kitch’s Virtual Food Hall ordering platform that enables customers to order from locally owned ghost kitchens and caterers that operate in its facilities. Businesses on the platform include Bite Your Tongue, Crav’n Caribbean, E.T.’s Casita, Fidel’s Kitchen, Fleming’s Simply Divine Sweets, Forty Twelve, From Philly to Charlit, Homestyle Kitchn and La Isla Tropical. The donation from Duke’s Mayo will be presented at the Duke’s Mayo Bowl at Bank of America Stadium on December 30th.

The City Kitch Community Works, a 501(c) (3) organization, provides prepared meals sourced from local businesses to people who are facing food insecurity in Charlotte, NC. Duke’s donated dollars will go toward purchasing a meal from these restaurants and giving it to someone in need. Launched in May 2022, The City Kitch Community Works organization currently operates in the Charlotte area and partners with Feeding Charlotte to distribute the donated meals to members of the community who are facing food insecurity. Feeding Charlotte is a leader in rescuing excess food from local organizations and redistributing to people in need.

“We are excited to partner with Duke’s Mayonnaise in our mission to support small local food businesses and fight hunger in our community. Not only will this provide immediate impact, but we hope the visibility will help us attract recurring support from others in the community so that we can have sustainable impact in these areas,” said Jim Swain, President of The City Kitch Community Works organization.

“This is a program that we can all feel good about,” says Joe Tuza, President & EVP at Duke’s. “Just by ordering a meal from The City Kitch, Duke’s will purchase an additional meal to be made by the restaurants and delivered to someone in need. Supporting Charlotte’s business community and enhancing the quality of life for its residents is an important piece of the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, this program allows us to do both.”
